Broadhaven Charters is owned and operated by Pat O’Donnell. Pat was born in the United States but returned to the Erris area of Ireland as a young child. He spent his youth fishing and became an expert angler.

During his early twenties, Pat returned to the USA, became a successful businessman and married his high school sweetheart who is also from the Erris area.

Pat and his wife, Ann, frequently returned to Ireland, sometimes making multiple trips yearly.  However, his love and yearning for the sea instilled in him a passion and desire to someday permanently return and settle in the homeland of his family and ancestors.

Pat’s dreams became reality in 2007 when he took possession of the newly commissioned Naomh Aine.  This boat, manufactured by Safehaven Marine, a well-known boat builder in Cobb County Cork, is an extremely sea-worthy vessel designed to take anglers on fishing and sightseeing excursions near and about Belmullet Bay.

The Naomh Aine operates from Belmullet, County Mayo, located on the Mullet peninsula. This is an unspoiled region of Northwestern Ireland known for its natural beauty and charm. The region is also known for its famous Stags of Broadhaven, a massive geological rock formation that towers above the ocean’s waves, acting as a guardian of the Irish mainland and the mascot and logo of our company.
